Relay Question

I was looking at the autozone site for relays, there are two relays that i am not sure as to what they do. The first is the " Burn Off Relay " what is it and what does it do? What happens if it is disconnected? Also the " Wide open throttle cut-off relay " Same questions with that one too. The cut -off relay would seem to be a problem to me. If yall know what im talking about. Let me know your thoughts and how to disconnect the cut-off one. Thanks

The "burn off relay" you are referring to is for the MAF sensor. It is known as a MAF burn off relay. All it does is provide power to heat the MAF sensor to burn off any accumulated dirt and debris on the sensor filaments.

The "wide open throttle relay" is a relay that cuts power to the AC compressor when you reach wide open throttle for extra power. I don't believe any thirdgen ever came equipped with this, but I may be wrong. Almost all newer cars have it though.

Every where that i have read says " On the firewall next to the Brake booster. " I think there is someting like three or four on mine ( different relays ).You will just have to find out which one.
