Re: Rear swap

No it won't swap over without a lot of work. And I believe that is a 8.5" rear, unlike the 7.625" in yours, so the gears will not swap over.

F-body rears are unique from 82 and later. They do not interchange with anything.

Compared to what other rear?? A clue would be what kind of HP & TQ did that Caprice have to handle, very little in my opinion.

Compared to what rear? Are you serious?

And what it needs to stand up to doesn't really hint at the rears strength. The 8.5" is significantly stronger than the F-body 7.625", but since it won't fit, who really cares?

Try another big laugh, Who cares if it was a old Cop car and a 350, what was its output?? Not much more , then the other ones I quoted. Just anther GM rear that will not work in a 3rd Gen car. And the big laugh is on you for asking the Dumb question will it fit. .

I believe the 90 was rated at 195HP and 295TQ. And much like the 3rd gen, the 9C1 cars are a nice platform for a performance car, even if the early models were a bit underpowered. I'm actually looking for one now in addition to my car, but I want a later car with the LT1
