ran a 14.4 at E-town with my 305

305TPI of course, All i've been doing is trying to hit high 13's with a 305 TPI, 4 months ago when i installed the motor into my 92 camaro RS the best i could do was 14.8 at 94 mph. The car is stick and was used with street tires. Today i wen to E-town(EnglishTown NJ) and hit a 14.4 at 94mph, This was done by Lowering the rear dunlops to 21 psi and the fronts to 40 psi. I just bought a set of Drag radials from this guy and should get em by this week. One thing that bothers me is the rearend since im using a T-5, numerically 3.42 gears were used with these trannies and im using a 3.23 rearend, So would this affect performance? if so how much. As of now I have a rearend from a 95 camaro with the 3.42 gears and plan on installing it sometime next week. Should i expect anything different? BTW with the 14.4 mark my 60ft time was 2.1. Im hoping the 3.42's and drag radials will get me to the high 13 mark

14.4? That's pretty good. I also have the 305 TPI. Is your motor stock? If not tell me what you got goin? Im trying to hit low 13's with mine, and am wondering where to start.

Nice times for a 305.
The 342 will help you, might be worth a few 10ths. The drag radials will help alot, I put some on my Z and was able to get 1.93 60' (was getting 2.1) and that brought my 1/4 mile times down from a best of 14.202 to 13.851.

I am rebuild the 305 im my B4C right now and if I can get into the 13.8 with it I will be happy.

Ya nice times man!! My IROC's been pretty fast as well..

1988 Camaro IROC-Z
LB9 TPi 305
700-R4 Tranny
3:23 gears

best 1/4 ET : 14.40 @ 95 mph
best 1/8 ET : 9.32 @ 74 mph
60' time : 2.012

All i got done is Hedman Headers, Borla cat-back, TPiS Airfoil, AFPR (42psi), free mods, MSD 8.5 wires, and thats about it.. One time i managed to rattle off a 97mph trap speed and the following run was a 96mph trap speed but the ET's weren't were they were supposed to be, they were both 14.4 ET runs, i think 14.42 or something to that effect. I haven't lost to another 305 or 350 IROC in the area, and i run right along side of stock LT1's, there trap speeds are usually the same as mine (upper 90's) and on the street i've even pulled on a couple of them

thanx guys, it wasnt easy, The 305 isnt stock it has some bolt on's, No Nitrous Or blower. First off the motor was from an 87 firebird, The block happened to be cracked so i found another one, Basically had a rebuid. As for bolt ons i installed a set of 88' vette alluminum heads,my friend ported them out, Installed Accels Double Springs and their #74211 cam, forgot the specs. Also had the plennum and MAF ported as well. Got the ford SVO 19# injectors. Ignition wise, nothing but replacement from autostore I have the Edelbrock TES headers,3" catco Converter and Flowmaster 80 series catback. As u can see i really dont have that much modifications, There is power in these 305's u just gotta pull them out. Im running a 9.5:1 compression. Since my tranny is pretty much gone, im gonna install a T-56, put the new rear with 3.42 and see what it does N/A once and if the 13 mark hits, guess i'll go with the nitrous(150) and see what goes on from there, My bottom end is basically strong enough to withstand the 150. BTW im not running any AC,Smog pump and after my run i had it weighed at a fat 3292lbs, and this is with no fiberglass component

forgot to mention that i also have the Edelbrock Intake wit stock runners

Im going to the swap meet, but i usually go on sunday, due to the fact that lots of people throw away their stuff, Last years swap meet i found a set of Black Z28 rear seats and one bucket. I know there will be lots of third gen parts for sale or in ur case headers.
