rack and pinion in a third gen

how hard would it be to swap in a rack and pinion into a 91 z? has anyone here done this? i can get the rack itself for cheap, but its just the rack. what would up sides and down sides be and what other cost involved??

They really arn't bad at all, especially if you have access to a lift.

no access to a lift but thats not a big deal to me. what is a slight conceren is the pump. will that be up to the job of a rack and pinion? and is there any fabrication involved? drilling cutting welding?

the up sides....your car wouldnt feel like a boat it would have half descent steering cost

The issues being your k member is completly in the way so youd have to notch the hell out of it. One of the TGO sponsors i believe was talking a long time ago about making a tubular k-member that had provisions for the 4th gen setup but nothings happened with it
