Re: question about dual fans in a 92 z
Well as far as I know the one fan comes on with the AC and the other comes on when the engine warms up not sure of the turn on temp.
Turn on the AC one should turn on.
Then turn off the AC.
Then wait till the engine gets warm and the other fan sould come on.
If either one does not turen check the fuse and the relay.
Hope I've been some help.

yep...my second fan didn't come on til the 230+ range..basically redline or when the a/c was turned on. it is something that can be fixed by either rewiring or programming if you choose. if your car is in proper shape though it shouldn't be a problem.

Each fan has its own relay wich are engauged diffrently. The primary comes on by the ECM which turns it on at a rather high temp, over 200. The secondary comes on by a A/C pressure switch or by the temp switch on the head which also has to get real hot.
You can burn a new chip to change when the primary fan comes on. For the secodary fan a couple people sell temp switchs that are down in the 180 deg range. If you want you can wire the two relays together so when one turns on they both come on.
