Power windows on 92Z......yep.....they died.
I was wondering about the motors today, and had an idea, after you modify the motor bracket or whatever keeps it in now that you've unriveted it, you should cut a small hole big enough for the motor to fit through in the door panel. And just seal that up with some velcro on the back of the peice you cut out and on the motor.
If that works, cool. Espicially if you keep killing them.

the easiest way to replace them is to drill strategic holes in your door frame. first make sure you line the drill up with the rivets so you can drill the rivets out. i ended up enlarging the holes so i could get a bolt in the new motor but you dont have to. there is no need to pull the track out unless you dont want to drill holes in the door. once you drill the 3 rivets holding the regulator in it falls out and the window will move freely with hand pressure but shouldnt fall out on its own. the regulator will fit therough the already p[rovided hole in the door with no modification.

are you serious? can you say hack job? really, how long does it take to pull the door panel off? all of about 5 minutes.

$42 from autozone. and if it goes out, I don't have to worry about waiting to ship my old one back to directauto and wait for them to ship me a new one. go in, set it on the counter, new one in hand. go back and put it on.
You have been given some good advice. It`s an easy job if you have the right tools and know what you are doing. Check a good shop manual for procedure or the thirdgen site. Before you go digging around inside the door, make sure to disconnect the neg. battery cable.
