3rd Gen / L98 Engine Tech 1982 - 1992 Engine Related

Is it possible to put an LS6 in a 3rd Gen?

Life would have been much easier if you had just bought a Camaro/Firebird with an LS1 already in it. Don't get me wrong, what you did is cool and all, but waaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy too much work for me.

Actually when we did the car we had 3 LS1 4th gen's. A 98 A4 Hardtop Z, a 98 Trans Am M6 with some mods, and a 2000 SS M6 w/ new engine and mods. I know what you mean though, but you gotta remember if it was easy eveyone would do it.

I would have done it to my 87 GTA if it was easy, but then my twin turbo headers wouldn't have fit right. Just curious, but how much difference is there between a 97 K member and one for a LS1? I know where a 27k mile LS1 sits for like a grand but I'm not sure how much would be involved in setting it in my 97 Trans AM. I know it wouldn't be cheap cause the motor has no accessories/brackets/harness/PCM, but it would get a few stares.
