Re: overheating still not fixed!!!!!

they're both computer programs so you'd have to buy it direct from the company. which i can imagine would be a little expensive. we have it on all the comps in the shop so if anyone needs anything off of them just let me know and i can look it up for ya.

Re: overheating still not fixed!!!!!

Beware of PC repair books, I bought Popular Mechanics on CD for my vehicle and it wasn't complete. I had to make additional payments to unlock the sections I really needed!
I ordered a Chilton on E-Bay for "just my 3rd Gen" for $15, it's about 3" thick and has almost everything you could want. I also bought a Haynes there for $8.

Standing in front of the car looking at the engine it's on the left side (cyls.2,4,6,8.)back two. You will have to get at it from under the car.

Re: overheating still not fixed!!!!!

Now that is talent. I definately had to get at it from the bottom. And I rounded off the edges so I couldn't even get it out. Just turned on the AC when I needed to turn the fans on. And I forgot to several times.

Later on, I just decided to replace the whole engine.

Re: overheating still not fixed!!!!!

see if you can hotwire the fan from the batt. just hit the wires to see if it runs. also check your fan relays. make sure you dont have your knock sensor and fan switch plugs crossed as they are the same style plugs.
as for service manuals, get a helm manual. this is the book the serv dept at dealerships use. they can be had on ebay and mine has saved me lots of cash.
its written for GM by helm to GM specks. it also tells what GM tools are needed with part numbers for these tools. hayes manuals are about an inch thick and covers roughly 5 years of a vehicle, a helm is 3 in thick and covers THAT YEAR ONLY. its worth the cash spent.

Re: overheating still not fixed!!!!!

yea i had to get mine from the bottom 2...the Jet fan switch was a standard thread so it took a while to get in there, plus the stupid dipstick line was wayyy in my way the whole time but my car runs around 185-195 degrees, definitly worth it
