Had oil leaking from valve covers replaced them had excess oil burning off the manifold. That cleared up but on my way home the following day I watched my oil pressure gauge drop. Came to realize its not the sending unit but the pump itself. In spekaing to others about this matter, ive been advised to rebuild the motor. Did driving home for 2 miles put that much damage on the motor to need to have it rebuilt or just put in the oil pump and call it good.

 

It might also be the bearings. While you have the oil pan off, you might want to have the bearings speced.
