oil pressure
lately i have been noticing that when when i frst start my car up and go the oil pressure stays pegged at as high as it can go and does that for the first 5 minutes of driving it, i have no idea what the problem could be i mean i change my oil every 2000 miles i use a synthetic blendmotor oil i check the fluid level every 2 weeks and im not burning or loosing any oil it right where it should be anybody know what the problem could be???
Before you start to freak jsut replace the oil pressure sender. They often go bad in 3rd gens. Might jsut be the problem. The stock gagues are also notoriously inaccurate- might be worth screwing in a mechanical gague (temporarily) to get the real truth.
Does it come back down to about 45 PSI when it gets fully warmed up (engine reved up, not at idle)? If it only comes down to about 60 then it's quite possible someone slapped in a high pressure oil pump at some point. They will regularly peg 80 PSI when cold and 60-65 PSI warmed up.
If the drop is drastic- 80+ PSI cold, 35 PSI hot revved up, you've got some sort of internal engine issue going on.
