Thumbs up Noob here asking for help!

Hey! I have had an interest in Camaros for a while. I can only afford a 90-92 or below. Where can I get more info on Specs? Am I correct that the engine code is a L98 with 245 to the crank? Can it be switched out with a newer Caprice motor( police interceptor) and maybe run with carbs? My ultimate goal is to run a consistent 12.3 or better. Any feedback is appreciated.

Re: Noob here asking for help!

they had 245 at the crank i think in 92,the older years went down in power.

86 didnt have an L98 option
87 had 225 HP
88 - 91 im not too sure about.

good sites for info are:

www.thirdgen.org
www.camarosource.ca

yes you can put an LT1 in a 3rd gen Camaro,do a search, its been asked a zillion times.

and yes you can carb it. they even make carb intakes for LT1 and Ls1 as well.

BTW,honduh's are slow

So I have looked around and cannot find out if you can switch a RS V6 motor to a V8 with out sacrificing safety as my main goal is to f!@#$$% fast not prettyOr at least halfway decent.

Yup.. I *do* believe he is correct.

And another BTW.. if you DO have a L98 by chance, KEEP IT! Those things are freaking TORQUE MONSTERS and it is NOT hard to get even more torque outta them.

And HELL YES you can switch out an RS motor. In fact.. i demand it But your car won't loose it's safety, in fact 3rd Gen and 4th Gen Camaro's are I *believe* a 5-star safety-rated car
