Nice Suprises found during L98 extraction

The motor is so close to coming out. Cherry picker is hooked up and everything. One exhaust mount and she's good to go. While taking apart the car to get out the L98/700R4 combo, I found some things...

Aluminum DS
3.27 9-bolt Posi rear

That's sweet. I'm excited The DS will fit in my RS with T56 just fine right? I'll be updating the site tomorrow afternoon with pics and a brief write up.

sweet dude

Yea, that will bolt right up no problem. Just get yourself some poly mounts and bushings for everything back there. They help greatly. Ask me how i know. Good luck man.

So what's the plan with the rear? Are you gonna put the 9-bolt in or pick up a posi and run those 3.73's you bought? The 9-bolt is tougher (as I'm sure you know) but the 3.27 ratio isn't really deep enough for the 6-speed, and a set of gears for the 9-bolt is gonna be pricey.

I'm going to find a posi, beit Ebay, SLP, wherever and run the 3.73's. If it was a 3.45 rear I'd consider it but 3.27 is still too tall and last I checked 9-bolt gears are around $300. I'm also hoping the rear can fetch a good price.

The motor is out. Talk about pluming/emissions stuff/etc in the engine bay. I have no clue what half of that stuff is. Geuss I'll be asking a lot of questions Tuesday after work I'm going to at least pop the valve covers. Depending on time, I'm going to try to pull at least one head and check things out.

NOTE: Site will not be updated until tomorrow night. The extraction took a smidge longer than expected.

Maybe throw the L98 heads/TPI stuff on the LO3 when the Superram/AFR's get here Haha, I'll probably just sell everything and anything.
