New Question on my 87 gta

Ok first off, the car runs good. Here's the problem. When you go out to start it up it starts up, runs a couple seconds and dies. Then if you go to the ecm and unplug the 3 connectors and plug them back in it will start and run fine. The first time it flashes the check engine light but after unplug then plug it doesn't flash the light. I hooked up the computer to see what it reads and its showing that the first time it can't detect the ecm. But after unplug/plug it reads it fine. I don't have any idea as to what this could be due to the fact that it does run after being unplug and so. And sometimes it takes 2 or 3 times of unpluging to get it to final not flash the c.e. light and run correctly. Not really a bad problem but really annoying.

Any thoughts would be great Thanks Bill

Could be a loose wire in the harness, bad ecm, or bad memcal.

my car used to sound like it was gonna die when i cranked it up, so i got an accel cap and rotor, hypertech coil, 8 mm accel plugs and it would crank up better. then one day i went to the gas station right around the corner and when i started the car, it acted like it was going to die... when i got to the gas station, i uncapped the gas tank and a sh!tload of gasoline fumes came out... one all the pressure was out, my car was running fine uncap your gas tank when you start your car up and see if fumes come out... if that doesnt help, then it's probably the fuel pump or the ecm
