New fuel injectors fixed several problems
As some of you may recall, my 89 IROC had been suffering from the following hard to troubleshoot problems:
- Bad/rough/searching idle
- Running very rich/burning eyes just standing next to the car
- Excessive fuel pressure in tank
- slight miss at rpm
Well, seems that installing new injectors (nothing else was done) solved all of these problems. Go figure...

I know, me either.. But if you saw that other post where the guy just changed his spark plug wires, cap and rotor and the excessive pressure in the tank was fixed as well, then you know that this excessive pressure in the tank seems to be a very strange phenomenon with these cars. I'm just glad it's fixed though. Could it be that bad injectors cause the fuel to get excessively hot which then returns to the tank causing the other fuel to start getting really hot which leads to excessive pressure?
