Re: new exsaust

knock this street legal stuff off, what exactly does that mean..well will it alter emissions,no unless you get rid of cat.will it be too loud?i doubt it especially if you have a decibel level in your state.some states say any modifications to a stock set up is illegal.basically yes its street legal.
edelbrock kit not a bad.good mid road kit, good quality and good for stock to mild engines, only thing i dont like about edelbrock is correct me if im wrong but i think it goes to a 2 1/2 intermediate pipe?if so why bother, get a full 3 inch job

well their is a noise ordinance for the town i live in, gives cops a reason to pull import tuners over. all of the exsaust kits from edelbrock ive found for my car is 2 1/2. if theirs a company that makes three inch pipes, could ya tell me. another kid told me if i want my car to be heard, put straight pipes on it.

First off, it's Exhaust.

Secondly, just do a search. Or magazine race the summit website and check out headers. Longtubes or shorties. Just have a local shop bend up everything else. Make sure it's mandel bent and 3"

Find a shop that you can just slip a couple bucks and you won't have to spend money on some catalytic converters and you'll be even less into it.

Re: new exsaust

insane i have the hooker 2055s with a magnaflow hiflo cat and the edelbrock cat back.
the hookers almost drop right in. one of our engineers at F.A.S.T. put a set of the 2055s in his 92 RS and said it went in like a charm. he put the pass side in from the bottom and the only thing major was he had to remove the starter. the dr side pretty much drops in. they also offer a Y pipe i HIGHTLY recommend. i have these headers myself but i put mine on when i did my motor swap. fitment of the Y pipe is great as it hits nothing. superb clearance. i also sugguest getting them coated. cost a lil extra but makes for a nicer looking piece in the long run vs rusting pipes later.
as for the cat, well it slips on the Y with no issue. its a cat that flos better, lol.
the edelbrock cat back sounds better and better the longer you drive it. its a
3" from the cat back as is my magnaflo cat and the Y pipe on the headers.
the only mod you hafta do to the edelbrocks is to cut the flange off for the cat to slid onto the intermidiate pipe. IMO the intermidate hung a bit low when it reaches the axle so i had one made that fit better.
one of my friends has this exact setup as well and he was VERY pleased.
i do recommend ya get everything welded up after its assembled. makes for a cleaner system and those clamps tend to loosen or get in the way if your lowerd.
have any ques just ask.

ps, i forgot to mention the 2055's are shorties and unless you are shooting for a certain HP range and dont plan to drop the car go with LTs. but if you just want better flo and a nicer sound go weith the shorties.
