New Car for me :)

I drove five hours each way to check this thing out today, and ended up buying it for $3300, which I don't think is bad.
92 firebird, 71,000 miles
305tbi
5spd
t-tops
power everything (except seats)
black interior
almost new tires
new clutch, flywheel, and starter
IT HAS CUPHOLDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

crack in t-top (doesn't go all the way through)
few scratchs (nothing really bad)
1 rust spot which I will take care of
only have 15in wheels, but once the tires have lived there life ill get 16's
has the sissy suspention, but that will be taken care of
nice seats from 94 z28 are begging to go in

The auction
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...item=2474456707

I take it home this friday, or next, I cannot wait to have this.

First i'm going to put in the bigger swaybars sitting in my basement), and take parts I put on my camaro, and switch them over (seats, STB, wonderbar, and stereo) .

1.
Open element
Full exhaust
Ultimate TBI stuff
Underdrive pullies (maybie)
Possibly other bolt on mods

2.
T56

3.
Posi, and gears

4.
350tbi with some bolt ons (maybie, I might be satisfied with the 240 or so that can be squeezed from the L03, i'm more into handling than drag racing, so long as I can teach most imports a lesson i'm happy)

Probably in that order.
Suspention work underway the whole time.
I was going to do 16in rims right away, but is has very nice brand new tires, I cannot bring myself to waste those, so it will wait untill the tires die. I think thats a decent list. Of course it will get a tuneup, and just generally cleaned up as best I can.

i just had to borrow another buck-fifty from my dad to get the car running right, that makes the grand total i owe him to be about $6500. so much for my first pay check when i get out of college (by then i'll owe him like 20K)...

P.S. and congrats on the car, i think 92s are the best 3rd gens

I have been, about 6 months now ive been searching for a 305 5spd, t-topped 91-92 camaro/firebird in good shape. The good news is I found another one a little closer that I want to go look at. $1,200 more though.

sometimes you have to pay to get what you want, but it if this one has at least half the miles of that other one isn't that worth it then? you can always get a hard-top and just do a t-top conversion, i've talked to a few people who have done it before and i don't think its that expensive or hard to do.

That guy is such a jackass!! I'd definately warn bidders about the fake mileage. That pisses me off that people do that and get away with it. How is he entitled to the money when he took yours under a false pretense? It just pisses me off so much!

A t-top conversion would cost as much as another camaro. It would be much easier to do the 5spd swap, but I dont really know how to go about it.

I heard T-Tops conversions were only $600ish if you DIY.

$300 for all the parts from a junkyard, $600 to paint everything. Then I have to buy a welder as well as some other tools, and learn how to weld. It would be cheaper to overpay $1000 for the car than to convert a better priced one.
