New best with my TPI.

I ran a 13.581@105mph (2.217 60ft )
I need a convertor badly. Torque is way down with the cam.
This is a stock runnered TPI car with ported stock heads, headers, and a mismatched cam (282XE on a 110 LSA). I plan on going to a SR eventually so that is why the cam was chosen.
I picked up 6mph from stock so I am pretty happy with it. Oh BTW the density altitude was 2800.

wow, for the altitude and the 60ft i'd be pretty happy.

get some good dragradials and see what she'll do.

you'll definatly startle some LT1s and even a few LS1s

I was on drag radials, but the track prep was bad, everyone had traction problems. Some people were spinning going into 3rd with stock LS1s (M6 guys). I did get to outrun a few stock LS1 F-bodys and a C5 with it at the track.
Thanks for the compliment,

That the right cam?

What times did you run before the cam?
1. It starts pulling pretty hard about 3000 rpm and pulls till about 6100.

2. Yes, but I am running 1.6 rockers so lift is .544, .556

3. I really don't have an absolute "apples to apples" comparison. I did a lot of mods to the car at the same time. It ran good in stock form, in fact I only went .004 faster after all the mods. I have a little work left to get it dialed in. I think I will put a SY3500 convertor in it next.

Wishmaster-It is a 92-Z28.

Robvas-Noticeable idle, and yes I am tuning it with Tunercat.

How are you getting the car to run up to 6100 rpm? I know your setup is not quite stock, but that top end should be quite restrictive. Are you holding it in second longer or what? Just curious, I have never heard of a stock runner setup holding to those kinds of rpms and still pulling

My stock base is heavily ported and siamesed 2.5". The upper plenum is ported heavily as well. I am holding the tranny and manually shifting it until I change the governor springs in the tranny.

Botch - those are impressive times, especially if it was almost that quick without the mods. What was your best times before the cam?

Dirt Reynolds- It went 13.58@99 mph with only a 2200 stall and 3.73s. I had a 1.815 60ft though.

Nice.

What do you figure the siamesing of the intake gave you for a power gain? You have pretty good MPH there.

Dirt Reynolds- I really can't tell for sure on HP from the siamesing as I ported the heads, added long tube headers, and did the cam at the same time. I know it pulls higher up more than it would be capable of without siamesing. I am still limited by the stock runners and the small runners in the intake near the head. I actually considered filling the injector boss area with epoxy and enlarging them, but decided against it. I am going to go to a S/R soon and will sell this intake then. I am real pleased with the MPH. I am hoping the thing will run 1 or 2 more with a better D/A.

Thanks for the compliment,
Botch

Any problems putting in those long tubes? Do you have a webpage? I think you have done quite well considering you are still using the LTR setup.

The headers were not too bad to put on. I had to get a different starter though. I also had to move the knock sensor from the passenger side to the driver's side of the motor. I don't have a webpage. Thank you and I am pleased with the LTR setup also. I really think it will go nuts with a better intake though. I am thinking of putting a convertor in it and seeing if I can get a 12 out of the LTR setup.

Looks to me like you really thought through all your mods. I bet you are right - a converter swap (maybe a Yank?) would see you hit the 12's with traction. I wonder if you would be even quicker with a bit less cam?

Dirt- Thanks, I think it would be faster now with a smaller cam, but I am going to put a HSR on it eventually and wanted to plan for that. I am planning on trying to get into the 12s with a converter then swapping intakes, and then putting in a 150 shot of nitrous. I have forged pistons in it so I should be good there.
