Question Need to buy plugs and wires, any recommendations?

Hi guys, just as the question says, i need plugs and wires for my 88 Trans Am 305 TPI, any ideas on what kind i should buy, can i buy wires that are bigger than the 7mm stock ones? Also, are platinum plugs bad for my motor? Thanks

I used Moroso blue max plug wires and acdelco plugs. After installing a hypertech coil and distributor kit and gapping the plugs to sixty I saw an improvement in power.

I just used some yellow accell replacment wires that were close to $30 and typical AC Delco plugs. I've definately never had a problem with Accel wires. I'd opt for the 300+ Race Wires but only if mine was a more srious performer. Goodluck and make sure yu keep them AWAY from the exhaust manifolds and tight in the wire looms. Burning a wire sucks and we all know that...

Cool

I have been using Accel Superstock wires since I bought my car in 1993. Never had a problem with them. I have Bosch platinum plugs. Same thing...very happy with them.

Im running the Accel 8mm wires, also and I dont have a complaint. I used the AC Delco rapidfire plugs, but they were nothing to write home about. Im just gonna run the normal Delcos next time.

The ONLY time to avoid platinum plugs is if you are running nitrous oxide. They don't mix well at all. Otherwise the stock Bosch Platinum plugs will hold their gap twice as long as any other plug.
