Alright. Here goes. I was pulling into the parking lot at school today, all the sudden my car dies, but starts back up. When leaving school, I notice the lower-than-usual idle. And when I begin to brake, my car tries to keep going, it revs up a lil bit and seems like it's trying to overpower the brakes. It doesnt rev alot, but just a bit. It is also sputtering. Now, someone said TPS. I unplugged the TPS while car was running and it made it idle just a tad higher, but hardly noticeable, but other than that, it made no difference in the way the car ran. Do you think that is my problem? Or maybe just one of a few problems?
Sounds like you have a bad ign wire for the sputtering or cap and rotor. the stalling maybe a dirty throttle blade....usually the idle will rise when the tps is unplugged....remove the dist cap and take a look at the rotor it should not be black...and fuzzies growing on the cap terminals are signs of wear...look at every wire to see if any are touching anything that could abrase them....take a squirt bottle and fill it with water and squirt the the cap, wires and coil, do one at a time. If it dies or starts sputtering..there is a problem..take your intake bellow off the throttle body and look at the blade, if there is a build up of carbon around the diameter, clean it with intake cleaner on a rag manually(carefull not to spray too much in the intake)...hope this helps!
