THE BEAST LIVES FOR NOW

First start up as expected this weekend. actually today Car has oil leak so i have to redo gaskets but for now its awesome

Rough base tune, high idle... erratic bouncing 950-1100 rpms or so. Vid does not do justice..its louder and more deep sounding than what the cam pics up. Oh well, once its smooth and tuned, i'll get more for sure!!!

New updates. wow alot went on pulled manifold to replace gasket/seal beads on the walls and i found that the rear oil galley plug was just loose so i was upset i had to pull all that stuff but oh well

finished the exhaust...went with a new muffler, dynomax ultraflo round 6" case 4inch inlet/outlet. Much quieter but still very loud if that makes sense i like it tho. Added dual 3inch tail pipe exits and 3.5 inch tips like i had last year. So the exhaust basically mimics my old setup

had to pull the y pipe to fix a o2 bung location and some mild leaks in the welds. I suck at welding but i patched everything up i think

Added LC-1 Wideband and G3 gauge kit and started tuning. Car idles decent in park/neutral but wants to surge/stumble in drive. I'll fix that soon tho. WOT tune is based right now, i have it safe 12 to 1 for the most part til i get to the dyno later these upcoming weeks

cant wait to see the results but i can tell you the car doesnt quite feel as 'fast' as i thought it would. But i only took it over 6000 rpms once today and it felt better than the 5000-5500 rpm pulls. So thats good but still doesnt 'scare' me like i thought i was gonna be. kinda doesnt feel that much faster than my old L98 in the mid range which is weird but oh well, we'll see once its tuned up

Nice to hear! I bet it's light years faster, it just doesn't have that crazy torque spike down low FOLLOWED by a very fast HP drop off... My 14.40 TPI IROC put you in the seat like an 11 second car but it only did it for about 2 seconds.

it feels quick but then again i have no idea what a quick car feels like. My 12.90 Irocz was as fast as i have ever been. This car feels faster than that but i wouldnt say super fast. But i havent been over 5500 rpms much with it yet

First drag results in tonight! vid coming soon

rough street tune with 38-39 degrees timing (abit high) and roughly 12.5 ish to 1 air fuel ratio

Softer launch but still quite stout at

1.59 60 foot
7.429 at 92 1/8 mile
11.67 at 116.3 mph 1/4 mile

that was best pass of night. Having abit of a miss or something up top, i think its a bad plug wire it got burnt and was laying on the header the last run so i'm gonna get some better wires here soon

i was expecting mid 12's. This car really doesnt feel as fast as it is and that kinda sucks

heres vid link..... just uploaded now so it may take a min or two to fully load. vid quality may not be the best but you get the idea
http://media.putfile.com/383-HSR-first-14-mile-passes

also, yes i did peel the hood louver off the hood on first pass. you can see it near 1000 foot mark in vid first pass

The car seems to leave pretty well, with more left in it there! I was shocked the same way as you, when your car feels like a 12sec car, and you go and run 11's with it, makes it feel easy lol. Then if your like me, you have friends with mid 10sec street cars that are tame compared to mine, and after a few passes in those, its like, MAN, now I gota go for 9's to feel fast again

I would say you still have some power locked up in there. What does your car weight? I’ve seen identical times ran by another friend of mine's car that weighted ~3700 and made ~370rwhp (auto).

well last year the car weighed about 3460 with me in it. with aluminum heads/waterpump/ministarter i think i would be near 3400 ish with me in it

so with more power from better tune i expect this car to go alot quicker than it has...especially since it was sooo hot

haha yes, and i'm nervous it wont last! it left the line pretty hard but like i've mentioned, there is alot of room to improve. I spun 1 run and the other run felt like it chirped abit. I only gave it about 75-80% i'd say. i think it has high 1.4's in it once i get good gears for the car and give it hell!!

running 26x10.50 ET streets. I never had another tire they hook great and are streetable too

[QUOTE=AutoRoc;5291644]That's a 10 second combo all day when you get it tuned, hooking, and in a 3200-3300lb car.

QUOTE]

I'll quote myself... Converter sounds great also! New tune, correct timing, cold air, maybe shed a few more pounds out of it...This thing will FLY. When's the 100 shot get plumbed!?!
