if i go faster than mid 11's i'll be estatic i dont know tho, the car will weigh around 3400-3420 with me in it in race trim.

stall speed should be 3500-3600 or so. Gonna have proper gears but for now its 3.42's

I was hoping for near 400whp on a dynojet and think thats realistic but my cam is only 230/245. Yours is abit bigger than that and your heads probly ported well enough to be close to AFR numbers. Depends on your raceweight i guess, but i only mid 11's at best which i will be happy with.

Hey there Orr. I recognize You from the 3rdgen.org forums. Looks like You've got a killer motor in the works. Whats Your current status?

haha just about to update!!

The motor is 'done'. its on the stand as far as i will go with it until it gets dropped into the car.
heads/cam/intake/oil pan are done and installed.

All i got to do now is bolt the motor mounts on, and drop it into the car. All my parts are here. the new converter is here and ready to go back on the trans. tough part is gonna be riggin up the exhaust system. True duals 3inch all the way i just dont know how i'm gonna route it all yet. Clearance is TIGHT down there and i want as much clearance as i can get as the car is lowww

here are some pics of the motor on stand and the new hooker headers from jet hot

Mallory 685 box installed

Motor

But yeah once its in the car, i can hook up all the sensors/wiring, add the front accessories, radiator/etc etc. Then its time for start up

Motor is in and almost finished! Gotta get a picture for you but its pretty much ready to be primed and started....except i dont have exhaust system figured out yet

SO i cant start without getting the exhaust figured out yet, and there is little room for that stuff now with the longtubes and Spohn crossmember...

I'll order the piping this week and my mufflers and try to rig something up

update, not doing the true dual anymore...the way i have to route it would be down the stock location and i dont wanna go that way anymore

its much cheaper and easier for me to run a single 4 inch exhaust with a 3inch y pipe...so i'm doing that

Gonna run a Dynatech split flow muffler and eventually run over the axle into dual exits like i had currently on my L98. same 3.5" tips

I'm gettin a mig welder and ordering the piping this week i think so i can get started on that build by the weekend and over next week.

soon as the motor is broken in, i'll go do a dyno tune and then track times. I'll have vids and all the info posted eventually its just gonna take some time

That sounds like a good plan. Just make sure you really take your time on the break-in.

I plan to do about 500 miles before any dyno tuning/track runs. i'm not gonna baby this motor but i'm not gonna pound on it immediately. I'm gonna follow a ring setting procedure that alot of guys are doing these days and its basically taking the motor thru a series of medium to hard acceleration spurts and letting it decel in gear. that deceleration increases vacuum and helps lube the rings while they are setting. This is more of a race car/fun car now so i'm not needing a length break in period

single 4" with a Dynatech is what I did, you'll love it. You might want to add a dynatech turndown with the cone insert inside of it if you're driving it a lot. It really hushes the bark and directs it to the ground. I remove it for the track. Goodluck firing it!

nice! was it really loud when cruising? i dont mind it being a screamer at wot, but at idle and cruise i was hopeing it was abit quieter than it looks like it will be

I wont be around next weekend but the following weekend i may beable to come out and take a look at that car for you I gotta check if those chips i have will fit into the stock chip location without that adapter

Exhaust is just about done....atleast as far as i wanted to take it before i started the car up. SO startup looks to be this weekend

however the exhaust hangs abit low for my taste out back where the muffler is.... so i may have to redo that section...tuck it up another inch atleast... i thought i had it right but its abit off. Easy fix tho i think, just gotta bend the angle up, so either bend the pipe or add a slight curve to it but i'm out of 4inch bends at the moment

I'll get pics this weekend and if i do run it, maybe a vid once i get the idle tune down and its smooth stay tuned!
