More Distributor Questions

We want to go from the cc-QJet to a Holley 650. We've been running on retarted timing since day 1 (just now found a new HEI module to fix it). Could we just swap carbs, disconnect the computers, and advance it by hand? Ain't got $200 for a non-CC distributor setup.

Also, just picked up a new coil. Took forever to find the one with the right connectors. Problem, it was out of a V6. We have the LG4. Guy said it should work (used but functional). Think it will, or did I just waste $20?

I'm not aware of the computer controlling advance on those carbed cars. I thought they still ran a vacuum advance distributer.

SCT - Spark Timing Controller

I'm picking up a new HEI and SCT tomorrow from a oh-so-awesomely generous doner. These LG4's are mutant-moron motors. I'd kill for a 350 w/Holley, but this is what we have and can afford.

Mad propz to all of you who donate parts to poor bastards like us.
