doesnt make more power but..how bout gears?
or you can do some pulleys, heads, cam, etc.
search the boards
also, what kind of "chip" are we talking about?
if it's hypertech or jet or any of that crap, most will agree it sucks
sell it and buy the stuff so you can reprogram your own car to YOUR own specs (about the same price but you can infinitely adjust the settings to your specific needs)

o, and welcome to the board

If its an Auto, a stall convertor. If not gears. And either way an No2 kit.

first off congrats on your camaro. second you can start with 20 bucks and do a bunch of free mods that wont give you much hp but shell be breathing a bit better. you have a coolant line from your intake manifold threw your throttle body and to your heater valve. by pass your throttle body. go from your intake manifold to your heater valve this lets the air come in cooler. also i would suggest if you dont have to pass emissions snip your smog pump belt off and if you can deal with no a/c snip that belt off to. now a cheap mod that is very fun and gives you a good pull is a ram air kit. there a guy who sells them on ebay there sheet metal smooth and professional they sit behind your fog lights and suck up all that cool air when you drive. power pulleys i would say pro. i didnt get much out of em but i felt some good torque if anything. then again if you have no emissions get rid of your cat with a straight pipe. after you do these fairly cheap mods for like 200 bucks get back to us tell me what you think and ill help you out some more.

have a blast

a gear will wake the car up alot...

suspension pieces are very important on our cars, they can be the difference between having a car to drive or a fun car to drive. that amount of money won't do much in real performance so i'd look to work with what you have.

avoid the misconceptions of pulleys, air foils, chips, etc. good luck and welcome.

Good call on the suspension parts. Especially Subframes. But I still say you would be more impressed with a stall convertor, and nitrous shot. But then again sfcs arent that much. On a small budget you could probbaly do all threee. Then replace your rear gears when you inevitably kill the weak *** 10 bolt.

Unless you have a 9 bolt

i agree, the only problem i see with the converter is for a daily driven street car with low power they don't do enough to warrant the cost....again this depends on what you go with like most parts, but a good converter isn't cheap.

same with nitrous. nitrous is a very fun and cheap alternative for power. however to run it properly so that you don't hurt your car or yourself the safety extras that you should have will bring the price up eating the budget. granted one could pick up a good used converter as well as a N20 kit that has been used little for cheap and see some impressive gains but on the whole these things are best left out early in the game.

one could easily spend his budget on just one of these, to combine them and have money left over would mean you going awfully cheap and if the budget is set as low as it is i'm sure there isn't room for rebuilds on the driveline anytime soon.

i say stick with things that will cause the least amount of stress and show some significant gains. two of the most noticeable mods i've ever done where suspension upgrades and a rear gear. the gear and sfc's where the cheapest and the most noticeable. now the most power gain obviously was nitrous but i still don't recommend it yet.

good luck
