Might have to sell the Z.. how much do you tink I can get?
Re: Might have to sell the Z.. how much do you tink I can get?
You can get a (albiet crappy ***) bottle jack for like 10 bucks. Its a pain in the ***, but combine it with a small block of wood and some cinder blocks and you will get the job done cheap.

LOL Anothony, Yes, I agree with you. However, Matt, Jesus, man, If I lived a little closer I'd bring you a freakin set of ramps or a jack. I got 3 sets of Ramps laying around, and like 2 good jacks. If this is all thats really holding you up, ask a friend from school or something. But once again, If it comes down to the car or school, you gotta definitely ditch the Z.
Hey, WTF is this about a truck accident?!?!

Matt, go to the Northeastern section of the board and ASK FOR HELP. You might end up with someone who will come over with their jack and help you put in the starter. Starters are a one-hour job. If you cant afford a mechanic, go round up a friend and Get it done!!

You have NO IDEA how much of a punch in the face it is having a car lying around, becoming more of a burden due to it not starting.. Oh ya, and I thought I told you I hit a tree in the Bronco? I was only going about 20.. the tires were bald, rear-end was fish-tailing in solid mud.. I went straight in-between 2-sets of trees (sideways, mind you..) and I put on the brakes and the ABS straightened the truck out, so instead of going sideways into a bunch of trees, I hit one head-on. It was my best friend up front, and then a retarded friend in back that I did NOT know wansn't wearing his seatbelt. I smashed the tree, heard a loud BANG... heard something that sounded like glass shattering; i made sure everybody was ok, Calvin (the one in back) said his head hurt. While he was getting out of the truck I was checking out the damage (a little penny-sized dent in the bumper
), and I looked over and blood was literally gushing from Calvin's head. Upon impact, calvin flew forward and nailed his head on the rollbar. Gouged it open, needed some staples. Well, anyways we left, everything seemed fine. The radiator was fine, wheels where fine, alignment was fine, no broken lenses/glass etc. I take the truck home, start cleaning it out another day; the F*CKING SPRINGS ARE SLAMMED THRU THE FLOORBOARDS
Ya; as in the shackles gave in and slammed thru the rear floorboards, and started peeling the floorboards right on the welded seams. It was sold to a buddy that fixed it all up.

Re: Might have to sell the Z.. how much do you tink I can get?
^The fact that i didn't have any money to buy a new car so I am basically borrowing a spare car from my parents. That and I owe my g/f a LOT of money which was made worse than it is by other people finding out so now it's a top priority.

Re: Might have to sell the Z.. how much do you tink I can get?
hey matt, I kinda know what your going though, I`m flat broke right now, I lost my job and I did owe alot of money too, from every post I`ve ever seen you make it sounds like you really love your car and I know how that is I`ll never get rid of my baby I even had someone offer to buy it but I said no, I`ll NEVER get rid of my 85 Z28 for anything, I`m slowly building her up with my own hands, This winter I`m rebuilding the T-5 and building a 350 or 355 for her and I hope I can get her painted black with gold ground effects and gold rims. Go find a winter beater cavaliers are great and cheap I picked up a 90 Z24 for $250 all it needed for saftey was a brake line and fuel lineand it`s a great little car. last winter I had a 93 Grand am that was $3000 and it was the BIGGEST POS EVER so just because you paid alot for a car dosent mean it`s good. and matt if I lived closer I`d give you a starter and put it on for you, DO NOT sell your baby over a starter, think how you`ll feel if you let your Zed go with all that stuff for $2000 and watching her go down that street on a flat bed. it`s your chioce but I wouldn`t sell it if I were you.
Re: Might have to sell the Z.. how much do you tink I can get?
Well thanks for the advice Chris; it's good to see that you follow my posts that closely
I really *do* love that car it's just getting so hard. I was hoping to have my T5 out and sold to Jon (pneumatic tire) this winter, have my T56 installed, and have my car in primer for next winter....
Thanks for the motivition... I was talking to my good friend today who *also* goes by the name of Chris, and said he would be MORE than willing to help me work on the car, he said I just have to tell him what to do (he is very car iliterate, but I am slowly brining him to come to know American cars VERY well
).
That is deffinently motivation as well, now I just have to find my damned receipts for napa and exchange starters..

Matt that is awesome news! I knew you HAD to have a friend or two that could help you out. I say just get a good starter on her, and drive the damn thing like it is till spring and it warms up. Besides, you got a motor to break in young man.
