Maf options

Ok, see we sit here preplexed on what to do, my buddy has an 86 Trans Am, put a ton of work in to it, its an LB9 so it has a MAF Tuned Port Injection system, we just did heads and cam, what computer tunning options are avail? I know one is to go for the SD 90-92 options, but wouldn't that mean a complete new wiring harness, computer and intake assembly? So we might as well rip off the entire TPI system and go find a 90-92 set up or what?

Going to speed density is a bigger pain than it is worth. Why are you going that route? What is wrong with the MAF setup? It is more adaptable and gives a more true air flow number than a SD system. You would have to change the Knock sensor because it is different in the 90-92 models.

I'd leave it alone and go talk to www.fasterproms.com and have them burn you a chip to take care of it. Even if you went to SD, you would still have the problem of the heads and cam which the computer cannot compensate for.
