Question LT1 or what?

i have a 87 or and 88 not sure which is it an lt1 or what.my freind said it could a l31 ? any help here

btw is the 81 camaro a third generation or does it wait for the body change.in the case that it does wait itd be a 2nd gen right

confused yet i am

Argh! I dunno where to start because I don't understand what you are asking totaly. Here goes. 87 and 88 were not LT1's. They came along in 1993 for F-Body's with the style change. The 81 was still a 2nd gen car. 3rd gens started in 1982 and ran until 1992.

L31? No... LO3, LB9, L69 possibly or maybe even an L98. Depends. Is it a 305 or 350? And don't just say its a 350 because thats what the guy told you who you bought it from, thats the biggest lie they tell just so they can sell it. Most of the time its a 305.

it maybe a 305 cause they had tons of torque, close to 300lbs-ft in 87 w/tpi. that makes them feel very pepy around town

check the vin numbers
