Talking lt1 thirdgen swap

Whats up guys? I just bought an lt1 and 4l60e trans ishould get it in about two weeks and i'm going to put it in my z. my 305 oil pump went out and so did my crank. my question is where do i look to find out how the wiring get's hooked up. i've been to a couple of web pages but i can't figure out how it's all hooked up. some have pics of engine all done, what i'm looking for is some kind step by step walk threw. if you know of a site or done it your self let me know. thanks for your help.

A guy on TGO, TexasLT1 has a write-up of his swap. To hookl up the wiring, you swap harness (from your TBI/TPI to the LT1 harness). Then repin a couple connectors (instructions on top of motor swap page on TGO) and hook everything up. Sounds simple but can get real tricky real quick.

TGO- www.ThirdGen.Org

Good luck!

I got that link from CTFBA.com (connecticut F body association). Like I said, I know he is trying to sell the car and apparently he did the swap himself.

HERE is a link to the post. Maybe you can ask him some questions.

Hi LT1Powered85Z
i was reading your page on swaping tpi for lt1. I just bought a 96 lt1 with auto trans.
I just got it today. Any way it comes with every thing assec, ecm, wiring, etc.
You say the fuel pump from a tpi engine should be good to power the lt1? Also how hard is it to hook up the wiring? Is there somewhere i can go to see how it's done? By the way the engine in my car is a 305 tpi. I was also thinking of doing away with the a/c and deal with it later. What about the drive shaft any problems with it not fitting? thanks for your help.

P.S I also had sent you an email when i came across your site.
that's i bad *** ride you got. thanks for your help.

I will have the tpi set up and t5 trans for sale soon.

Hey guys what's up? Today i started taking apart my 305 for my lt1 swap. I'm going to try to take pics of what i do as i install the lt1. Texaslt1 changed my mined about the auto trans. His t5 is working fine with his lt1 after a rebuild so i'm going to beef up mine. keep ya post.
