LT1 Question Swap

I am about to purchase a LT1 that was pulled from a wrecked 1992 Vette that had been side swipped. The motor was rebuilt but the shop I buying it from does not know the exact milage. The Odometer on the car when pulled read around 100,000 and the owner did the rebuild a little while before the accident(so im guessing the motor has around 20,000 miles tops). Do you guys think its worth 1,000 dollars. I am planning to put a LT4 kit on it and machine the bottom end if needed and put in my 1992 RS Camaro which has a 305TBI as of rite now. Does anyone know what all I would need computer wise to get it done. Could I use a computer out of a 4th gen camaro with a Painless wire harness? I was also wondering if anyone knows if my T5 would work on the LT1 and would last on the LT1 for a lil while till I can get a T56 or a aftermarket 6 speed bolted to it. An suggestion on what I should do and what you other 3rd gen swapped LT1 owner have done would be great.

Re: LT1 Question Swap

If you get the wiring harness and computer from the vette those will work. If you don't feel like converting the harness yourself fuel injection specialties in texas will splice it together with your stock tbi engine harness so it just plugs in. I think that they charge around 325 dollars for this service. Your t5 will bolt right up to the lt1. It should hold up fine for a while as long as ou don't power shift it. 1000 dollars sounds like a great deal for a vette lt1 I would pay 500 for just the short block. It has 4 bolt main caps. also make sure that you get all the engine accessories as they are expensive and the ac compressor, ect are different the the f body ones.
Hope this helps. I've had my lt1 in my car for over 3 years. It just ran a traction limited 12.90@112 last sunday and put down 350whp and 360wtq on a dynojet thursday night.
