LT1/LT4 in my IROC. Has this been done?

I was just thinking how cool it would be to have an LT1 in my car. Now how much of a hassle will this be? Am I dreaming or have I heard that you can have a TPI LT1 and that way it's more of a direct swap? Am I mistaken? I need to know alot about this because I am seriously going to do this. If you have done this, or know someone who has, please give me alot of info. Please include how much you spend EXCLUDING the motor.

P.S. I kinda want to put LT4 heads and cam in too. How much will this cost on top of all of that.

Check the contact page in the link in my sig below. You can also do a search here...this subject has been brought up quite a bit. I am doing the swap now as a matter of fact.

The above link is to my page.

I've done it twice and have answered a TON of questions.

If you search on here, in this forum, for LT1 swap I'm sure you'll find a lot of stuff...and a lot of responses by me. Heh...

you can also go to www.hpsalvage.com, and if you get a custom wiring harness go to www.injectiontechnology.com about 500 bucks but makes it much easier.

Personally I would go to www.tpis.com and order one of their harnesses. The harness is VERY top notch and they've got great customer service.

Call 952.448.6021 and ask for Jim. He's a good friend of mine and he can get you set up with the harness that you'll need.

Hey...thanks for the compliment!!

The stock 5spd flywheel will work, just so long as it's from an '86 or newer 1 piece rear main seal engine. It appears that your car is an '87, so you should be just fine.

Good luck.
