If you cut the bottom out of your stock airbox it will be as efficient, or more so, than a 4th gen CAI with it's bends and restrictions. Also, you can't use the "homemade ram-air" mod with a 4th gen CAI.

I'm sure it can me made to fit, but is it worth it?

I dont know that answer to that, thinking about it i would think the 4th gen CAI would be more sufficient, the SLP in particular, 2 air filters, two big tubes, the only problem is the bends, however they are smooth bends.. Swapping in the LT1 into my car u must use the LT4 Corvette intake bellows in order to adapt the MAF in the intake tube, its shorter (positive), not smooth, and the intake box seems small, althought there are to square holes, they are thin openings.. What do you think? Do you think it will still flow as much of not more? i'm swaying both ways, i have no idea..

There are better ways to do things. I won't pay SLP's prices for their CAI kits anyway...
