I'd swap in a matching '94 tranny and take advantage of being able to dial in shifts with a programmer when you tinker with engine settings.

Please, PLEASE do some searches here and over at thirdgen.org. You will quickly find all of the information you need and not be asking the same question that comes up once a week.

Also, for a quick general guide, check out my website, www.geocities.com/texaslt1/lt1swap/swap.html

To answer your questions, yes, you can use the 700R4 but you'll be better off using the 4L60E that comes with the LT1. If you do want to use your 700, you'll need a '93 throttle body to be able to attach the kickdown cable. You can also use the 4th gen rear, you'll just have to modify the e-brake cables a little bit and your stock wheels will get moved out 1" each side.

I agree. Messing with the governor on a 700r4 is a HUGE PITA!
