I have to agree with everyone else here. However, I need to correct one mistake about the original cams.

The 1986 TPI cam is a hydraulic piece and is called the "peanut" cam. Specs:

Lift: 350 / 385
Dur 50: 178 / 194
LSA: 109.0

In 1987, the roller hydraulic was introduced, replacing the hydraulic. All automatic 305 TPI's from 1987 thru 1992 and all 1992 non-G92 305 TPI's used this:

Lift: 350 / 384
Dur 50: 179 / 194
LSA: 109.0

Do the specs look similar? This same cam was also used in 1987 305 LG4's and 1988 - 1992 LO3's.

A cam w/ 214 intake duration would be out of the rev range of a TPI motor, where as an LT1 cam would be fine. The LT1 cam will make a lot of tq down low like the stock cam, and make more peak power. I have an LT1 cam and all the things that go with it. I will send you a PM man.

Hey Willie, I think we've established thru dyno testing and people actually pulling the cam out of their 305's, that the 90-92 305 TPI engines DID NOT get the peanut cam.

The LT1 cam specs at .447/.459 205 207 115 lsa for most applications. They changed though the years but that was the most common one. It works real good with my 305 tbi from 2500-5000 rpm.
