from what im told that would be a decent cam to go with. i would get matching springs if i were you. if im correct thats a roller cam so your motor needs to be sett up for roller lifters as well. being 86 yours insnt a roller motor, they started in 87 IIRC.
if i were you i would decline the sale. i learned one thing a long timeago about cams. a friend said once "cams are cheap, dont take a risk. buy a new one." i had pitch a lifter when my # 7 exaust spring took a dump. we didnt know what unseen damage occured so we just replaced it.
do your homework on how you drive your car and what you plan to do with your car. call comp cams tech line and ask for Eric. hes a good friend and knows his stuff. hes going to ask you the same thing i told you and he will be better able to help ya with a cam selection. bigger aint always better.

from what i hea the LT1 cam isnt THAT agresive, but an all around great upgrade for a street cam, if ur gunna pay 80 for a used one u might as well get a new one, maybe the whole cam and lifter set as well if ur gunna pay that much.....ive seen used lt1 cams go for like 30 bux
something else thats takeing him out of the running is he has a 86 block. the LT1 can is a roller cam and he has a flat tappet setup.
if the LT cam eas fglat tappet that would probably be a good cam to go with as is not to bumpy. the ECM can handle that without chip tuning. i considerd an LT1 myself till i bought a friends low low mile motor that was well built with a sizeable cam.

Kurupt,
Converting to roller is mad expensive. If you're going to though, I'll give you my L98 cam (real close to LT1 specs) for $25+shipping. Don't pay $80. I can't stand to see a friend get screwed like that! I'd look around for a flat tappet cam though, just because converting involves new special lifters, etc.

Roller cams wear much better than a flat tappet cam. Since the lifters are in constant contact with the cam and they roll across the lobes, cam wear isn't that big of a deal in these cams. I've got an LT1 cam that came out of a motor with unknown miles that looks brand new (i know it isn't though). I would not hesitate to reuse it if I was doing a stock rebuild.
ditto on what everyone else said on the LT1 cam (price). u are getting screwed for $80. that is insane!!!!! if u want one i have one for $25 shipped. but as everyone said b4, it is a roller cam and u dont have a roller block. FYI
The 86 tpi cam was the worst ever. I would say though if you are gonna go through the trouble of a cam swap, get something a little more worth your while. There are a ton to chose from

Either way though, Kurupt-If I were you, I'd either look for a roller 350 block
, or just find a flap tappet cam.
Why do you guys want to put stock cams back in your motors? Find a used aftermarket cam. Why go through the effort of swapping cams to only put a stocker back in there? I think there is a crane 214-220 .452 .465 roller in the classifieds at thirdgen.org, that would be a better cam than the stock LT1 anyway.
A convertor, headers, and/or used aftermarket runners would be a better mod if you don't already have them. $.02

Summit sells a non-roller cam that will be perfect and for under $100. It specs out at 204/214 dur@.050, lift of .420"/.442. I run that in my 86 IROC's 305 TPI and it is a great upgrade from the peanut cam, yet works with the stock springs (assuming they aren't shot) and computer setup, no driveability problems. It's perfect for a mild 305. If you're doing heads/intake upgrades you can go bigger, but this one is great for a bolt on motor where you just want to ditch the worthless peanut...
