Cost effective? Nope.
But it is a very eye catching swap.

As far as I know, there aren't any LS1 headers that will work with our cars.
The manifolds are enough to get the car to run mid 11's.
Go to www.speartech.com and check out thier LS1 powered Camaro.

yeah you have to use either custom headers or the stock manifolds

Talking reply

thanx guys for the info my problem is i took my tpi apart and one it's very complex to put back together, not only that what i mean is i'm putting together a really nasty car and i love after market parts also i love seeing a car with the best of everything and i can't see putting the $ into the tpi unit it's so expensive for what i gues is marg. gains at best, tell me what you think, i'm not an expense freak either i love the idea of using all gm parts motor wise like fastburn heads scroggin dickey base etc. so it doesn't have to be a million dollars for me to like it

Actually, I was reading an article on that the other day.
There was one maufacturer's headers which does clear the
3rd gen's frame. I'll see if I can find it.

if you've got all the wiring and stuff for the tpi setup still then you might think about doing an lt-1 intake swap. Check out http://www.lt1intake.com/ this tells you pretty much everything that it entails.

It will be way way cheaper than putting an ls1 in, and thenyou can use the leftover money for more mods

Just an idea, that and you mentioned sticking w/ all gm parts
