Re: Low 13/High 12 second thirdgens

Vortec heads will not work with a LT1 intake, nor will they work without a Vortec TPI base. The Vortec heads have the ports raised I think, and no amount of port matching can fix that.

The LT1 intake is a good mod. John Millican has a dyno test of a LT1 intake on a LT4 hot cammed, bolt-on L98 with stock heads making 300rwhp on a good tune.

Where have you been hiding out, lately honey, Your axles a piece of junk till you spend lotsa money.....

Gee, your misfortunes have made you the world's expert in 10-bolt technology, I guess.

Never mind all those folks with 1.6 second 60-foot E/Ts on their 10-bolt axles, some of which have seven full drag racing seasons worth of abuse on their still-survivng 10-bolt axles.

I've seen PLENTY of high-12 second cars that run reliably with their PREPPED 10-bolt. I have a whole DVD full of them on the CamaroZ28.com Nationals DVD. Need some names?

What is your problem? You can waste $600 bulking up a 10 bolt and hiding behind an auto in order to last for awhile, but everyone on here knows they are junk, and moser laughs all the way to the bank because of it too. For every guy holding his together, there are countless ones on their 3rd or 4th, so I dont want to hear it. What 10 bolts do you think we have, the 8.5 grand national ones that could actually get somewhere? Are you going to tell me 305s are a great design too?

This just in, high 12s is not fast. But it is still plenty fast enough to shatter stock and built 10 bolts if you want to drive it right behind a 6 speed. I just dont want to get anyones hopes up on the question of making it unbreakable, it just doesnt work that way with the 7.5. You replace it, strengthen it and be careful, or have a AAA card handy. I dont see why you are in my face about such a useless and obvious topic.
