Looking for a 3rd gen, have no idea where to start.
I am currently looking for a 3rd gen Camaro as either just another car or perhaps a fast low 11 second one. I have no idea where to start, what year to look for, what options, what engines or anything. (sorry )
I like the styling of the 86 (the year the redesigned the headlights) and above. I don't want to spend crazy amounts of money and I do want an auto (the other one is the stick ).
I think I want a 350 over the 305, because if I am not mistaken, the autos in the 305 came with worse cams.
What do these things run with basic bolt ons, 350 auto and would I have to blow or stroke to get into those 11's.
Thanks for reading the long thread and thanks even more in advance for answering .

Then start with an 87 Iroc up to a 92 Z, Make sure the 8th Digit in the vin has an 8. (this is a 350 vin code)
Personally I like the late 80s models to the early 90s.
If you are looking for a low 11 sec car then dont get t-tops.

Well i would personally recommend the 91-92 Z-28's. All of them were stocked with the Tuned Port engines(305-LB9, and the 350-L98) Also have the newer style ground effects, 16 inch rims. Very nicely designed cars.
Ohhhh yea, and the 350's only came avalable with auto
I would also check vin #'s before buying anything, just to make sure you know exactly what you're buying. Way too many people selling their third gen tell people that it has a 350, and way too many times they dont
Good Luck,
