lets see whos lighter the Firebird or Camaro

stock: which one is lighter?
and what do they each weigh (v8's of course)

what have any of you guys weigh or gotten down to in weight in your cars

other then third gen is their a trend on the weight differences between the two in all the other generations, like has one always been the heavier version?

Mine weighs 3780 with me, amp & box with 2 10's, and 1/3 tank gas. Car is fully loaded with every option except t-tops or convertable. I weigh 245 lbs. So figure about 3500 with a full tank but without me or the amp/box in the car.

I could be wrong but I think the Firebird has always been just slightly heavier.

My 88 Formula weighed 3400 without me in her.
It has A/C, PW, PL, Lightweight Spare, 700R4, 305TPI, full interior, small amp rack with one amp, 16" wheels, 245/50/16 tires.

In 1990 the shipping weight for a base v-6 camaro was 3082 while the v-6 bird weighed 3106. The IROC's shipping weight was 3264 while the formula and trans am were both 3338 and the GTA was 3554. So if weight's more important than which one you think looks better i'd say go with camaro. What am I talking about??? everyone knows the IROC's have the birds when it comes to styling!

O yeah, and the firebirds are always heavier than camaros for any year if equipped with the same engines.

In V8 form, same options, the Firebird Formula was always the lightest. No ground effects and not a lot of power options that were often standard in other V8 F-bodies, Z-28 or Trans Am.

Not a V8 but...

Quarter tank of gas and me in it, my car weighs 3550. Figure 3360 without me. That's with everything that came with the car.

That's a fully loaded TTA. I think some of the weight loss is from the V6 and Lexan T-Tops. But I don't know what the difference is between the turbo 3.8 vs a small block chevy. Same with the 200 4R vs 700 R4.
