leaking oil
leaking oil
it looks like i am leaking oil out of #8 exhaust port where it connects to the headder what to you guys think could it be a lifter not adjusted right i did put new cc lifters maybe i didnt adjust them right and clues or ideas
if oil is getting into the combustion chamber either your valve seals or your valve guides are no good. If your lifters weren't adjusted correctly you would just get popping and backfiring because the valve would always be opened (rockers too tight) or valve "clacking" (rockers too loose).
Sounds more like a valve cover gasket than anything else. Did you seal them with anything when you put them back on after the valvetrain work? What kind of gaskets did you use? I find it works best to glue the gasket to the valve cover with black RTV or something similar and let it dry for a couple hours before you put the covers on. That way the gasket won't try to slide out from under the cover.
If it is on the outside of the headers it soulds like something is leaking from the valve cover or the intake manifold. If is is inside the tubes, it would be either the valve guides, valve stem seals or both. That or the rings or something is not burning right.
