L03, LB9, L98 intake questions
hey guys 2 quick questions...will the TBI intake from an L03 bolt on to a 350 L98 block?
second question, what's the difference between an L03 and an LB9?
trying to help a friend out here, any help would be appreciated

well sinse the LB9 and L98 r basicly the same besides bore, and ive seen LB9 intakes go onto LO3's......i guesse it should work, tho i think its a waste of time......sinse ur friends has an L98 block try to convinse him to use the tpi or mini ram or somn.....save him some time, money and give him alot more power

The difference between the LO3 and LB9 was basically a cam head swap....the LO3 was 170HP and 275Lb feet, the Auto LB9 was 195-205HP and 285-295lb ft,...while the hottest LB9 was 230HP and 300Lb feet

Do a search on the G92 ( or 42? not sure which ) optioned LB9. I think a board member here has one as well.

With stock heads, the motor would probably be ok, but I would still probably port match and extrude hone port the intake, to make it flow more on the 350. Tbi's are still pretty good although there on the lower line of vehicles. You may lose a little power, but it will work.
well i am a board member that has one...you are right its G92
it was a package called R6P for 90+ firebirds (mines a GTA)....it had 4 wheel discs, oil cooler, dual exhaust, 3.42 gears (LB9), aluminum drivshaft, aluminum spare....the RPO G92 was included in R6P...when i first got the car i didnt know that....i knew it had 3.42's instead of the 3.08's that came standard with the 5 speed cars, but i didnt think it was a G92 car...there were only 164 GTA's made in 91 with G92 and LB9...it's a t-top car so it isnt that "rare" but i figure after 13 years there arent to many like it on the road still...
basically its was a 5 speed LB9 with the L98 cam and 3.42 gears...
with basic mods (K&N, flowmaster and the EGR walls ground down, the best my Lb9 ran was 14.1@almost 97....but i also tried everything i could to break it....
to bad i didnt take the pics of my 2nd and 3rd gear clutching teeth when i rebuilt it

94LT1Maro...your in luck bud....i have my complete LB9 for sale...
youd have to change the cam and heads, and put on the TPI intake....the only thing that would be different would be the exhaust...The manifolds and the N10 setup...i have 1 manifold but the other and the N10 was unusuable so i canned them...
PM me if your intrested

Thanks for the offer lol but I don't see a total engine swap in my future right now. I just can't afford it lol I see just doing the TPI Swap, L98 Cam, and whatever else was done to the 305 to punch 230hp from the factory as enough for now. Just doing that will save me a crap load of money as far as i'm concerned and give me the power I want. Thanks again though and if you can give a link to a website that would have some information about that particular engine package i'd sure appreciate it b/c this is a more sensible route than doing a complete motor swap..............well at least for now b/c I know my 305 won't last forever
