Question A jumble of questions!!

Well, here it goes!

What flow-Master should I use to my make my car noticed?(DEEP RUMBLE!)
Will a Cam realy give ya 76 HP? (as Crane claims!)
What Intake-Manifold will best-suite my new Edelbrock 600cfm carb?
What kind of Cam and what model(as well as duration, etc) should i use for max-low to mid-end torque?
What is so special about 18-degree rockers?
And will those 110-dollar Heddman-Headers make a noticible diff. on my car? (from Jeggs)
And are Heads realy a neccesary mod for the car?

thanx a LOT to all those who reply!!
Matt

The 80series Flowmaster is generally considered the best sounding, but it all comes down to personal preference.

If you have a built-to-the-gills 400SBC with a factory peanut 305 cam, and you replace it with a Crane cam, then you might gain 76hp. Realistically, no.

For low-end torque with an Edelbrock carb I recommend the Edelbrock Performer Airgap intake. It has an space above the valleypan to help keep the air cool, which means a little more power.

For a cam recommendation get all the info you can about your engine and call Crane. They'll hook you up with a good grind.

18* rockers are made for 18* heads which are insanely expensive and only used by very serious racers.

Heddman headers will do you a world of good if your exhaust is stock. Just keep in mind the fact that your Y-pipe probably won't work and you'll most likely have to pay someone to build a custom one.

You can only make so much power on stock heads. Some are better than others, but if you want to make real power you have to either have your heads ported or get new ones.

Hope it helps...

you can get a matching y-pipe with headman headers.
i just installed it and it lined up great
expect to make the stock brackets bolt to the headers
lots of fun

Go with the 80 series. The 40 doesnt sound much different and doesnt bolt right up like the 80 series will.

I always hear about Flowmasters but I used Edelbrock's stainless cat-back system on my 89 Formula and I am always getting compliments about the low rumble sound of my car. I was so impressed with the exhaust that I went and put on the Edelbrock TES headers and it really woke up the little 305.

wow... dint expect so many replies!
Thanx a lot for the help!
Also, there is a set of Rockers in the new Jegs catalog, and claims a '15-40' hp gain... another load of crap?

Probably more like 7-10hp on a typical engine. If your heads are dying for more lift, I could see as much as 20 but it's not likely.
