jack up the back

jack up the back

where are the best places to jack up and support the rear of an 83 z28. im painting the rear end of my car with por-15 and i need some room to work.

you can always do it on the rear axle. just do not jack it up on the side there the body meets the frame, it is weak and folds.

so can i put the jack right on the differential where should i put the jack stands

just keep them on the axle, i've not even look at my rear end in awhile, but i''ll look under her 2morrow and give u exact places to lift. pretty much thought if it looks stong it can go, but just ease the jack down if u want 2 try it urself.

I put the jack directly under the pumpkin (differential) then the jack stands on the axles.

Either the pumpkin or you can get the jack under the LCA where it mounts to the chasis. Don't forget the back is up and now you have nothing to stop the car going forward. E brakes work on the back wheels. Be smart and use wheel chocks for both in front and behind both tires.
