The air flow from my the HVAC system in my 89 is anemic to say the least. Putting it on high, equals the output on low in my girlfriend's Camry.

Is there anyway to imporve the HVAC system in the 3rd gens to put out better airflow? Maybe a system from the 4th gen?? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

 

They're not strong to begin with. I have found that a fresh blower fan motor and cleaning the mouse nests out of the front of the heater core makes a big difference, though.

 

Ahh, the mouse nests! I forgot to check for that! But serioiusly, yes, I realized they're weak from the start. I was more interested in how to upgrade it, rather than restore it as restoring it would net nothing.

Are the 4th gens any stronger? I wonder if I could swap in some components from the 4th gen??
