Ignition upgrades

After installing a MSD 6A on my truck (1995 TBI 350) I was SO amazed at the power that was now available at higher RPMS (used to just die out).

Can the same be applied to my 91 Z28? Is an HEI ignition like my truck? Sorry, I havnt even had the car for a week and no time to examine everything about it.

Thanks

It will some, but the car has TPI and they have a upper RPM usable limit of about 5000, so if you changed the intake somewhat you would see a better increase with the MSD. Also the TPI has the small cap with extrenal coil, which may be the same as your truck.

Stock ignition is stable until about 5000-5500rpm, which is past where the TPI dies out anyway. IMHO it wouldn't be worth the money unless you've gone to a different intake setup.
