I need a door hinge

My driver's side door barely closes anymore. The lower hinge's pin is really screwed up. Can I get that pin easily? Also, how hard is it to install? I am sure this is a common thing, so could someone please help me? Thanks alot.

The hinge is welded to the door, and bolts to the car. I started to rebuild mine, but then I gave up and just adjusted the door so it closes correctly. I even had to file the rear post hole (where the latch is) so it would move up further.

EDIT: Not file the post, but the quarter panel for added adjustment room.

You can buy bushings at Autozone for like 5 bucks, but have fun putting those in as it is a bit of a PITA.

When Replacing a pin or doing any door work you SHOULD have another person there with you at all times.

I know this is for a 2nd gen but it also works for ours for the most part.

The top of my pin is bent so maybe bushing will help. The hinge is fine otherwise. Here is an ebay item i was looking at. Do you think it would work? Thanks for the replies so far.

I believe www.3rdgensolutions.com sells a door hinge repair kit that's real sano. You can get greasable bushings, or non greasable ones. Hope this helps!!

I got 2 lower pins and 4 bushings from my local Chevy dealer for only $14 total. Install is much easier than everyone claims. I completed BOTH doors in under 45 minutes. The only special tool needed is for the detent spring. MAC tools sells one cheap (less than $20) that works great.

FYI - If your pins/bushings have been worn out for a long time, your door latch is probably also shot. I found my doors rattling horribly over bumps after the pins/bushings. Turns out the latches had ovaled out the retainer arms. New latches set me back $100 for the pair new
