Yea ... the guy had no clue what he was talking about , i heard him contradict himself multiple times ... one of my freinds there heard him misquote what he told me the tourque was lol , and this time it was differnt by almost 200 ft lbs ... i was losing it listening to him ... O and he has basically a stock exhaust on it ... and a flowmaster cat-back ... he seys "Long tubes arent worth all the work cutting the floor and all for a mere 2 hp" ... i love how its more like 20hp on a stock motor , and a built one substantially more lol ... As someone previously stated ... Dumb People have no belonging under the hood of their cars

i know. but how could you get 406 stroker???
a 305 with 400 crank is 335 stroker.
350 with a 400 crank is a 377 to a 388 mostly 383's tho.
so if a 350 with a 400 crank aint near a 406 then a 327 with a 400 crank wouldn't be either.
a 400 with a 400 crank is a at most a 408.
427 with a 400 crank ah a 406 destroker lol lmao.

If we can keep this clean, I'll keep it open. It's kind of a fun topic.

Okay im still in the process about learning about cars because im only 16 and unfortunatly i wasnt brought up around them at all. Unless im insane i believe it says he put a new cam in the motor. Wouldnt that usually need a new chip to get the most out of the mods???

i think you can run a mild cam without a chip.
ifd you get nutso with your cam you might.
like a 292*575lift or a 318*675lift or a 328*with a 725lift.
but them are all wacko nutso cam's that most won't run. but there out there. i'm puting a 292*cam with 575 lift in my 91firebird400.

Off the topic: Doug791...I am in the same situation. I love cars (Third Gen Camaros in particular), but I did not grow up around cars at all. Last year or so I became friends with a few kids that were into cars a lot. One in particular had a cousin that had bought an IROC in high school and modded and experimented with it until a drunk driver hit him and totalled it. He now has a GN that ran low 13s before this past winters mods and the car is now easily 12s, but not yet proven. Anyway...my friend gave me his screen name and I began to talk to him a lot. He taught me just about everything I know and then some. He also taught me that beating on cars is just not worth it and the risks are just too great. Also, I read a lot of information in books and especially on the web. I have learned very much about cars just from this one kid. I see you have a very nice 1990 IROC with a few mods. The car has great potential, and if you ever want some help, please feel free to IM me on AIM (screen name: Zrated383) or e-mail me. I may only be 16, but I am reasonably knowledged about the TPI cars in particular.

To the topic: 650hp on a 406 stroker motor, hmmm I like it. Maybe he can build me one so I can put it in my car when I get it in a few years...
