He has done some more work and removed some weight and now should be in the 9. It takes more than a big HP motor to make the big #.
Yes, but we are talking about a thirdgen with a turbo 350 on slicks.

Find out what the car is trapping in the 1/4. The mph can show the hp output of the car to an extent.

Also keep this in mind: if he's putting 620hp at the wheels without chassis strengthening and suspension work then traction is a big problem whether he thinks so or not. If he doesn't have SFC's then he's losing a lot of torque to chassis flex, and if the rear suspension is stock he's not hooking no matter what kind of tire he runs.

It's perfectly possible, but I'd say there prolly is a good bit of crap there. The concept of a "406 stroker" eludes me, and everyone knows that you can do a LOT with LT1 and LS1 cars. Tell him he's stupid, and then tell him he can't drive.

He doesn't need a burned chip for his 406.

Some people prefer a higher front-end than back end. :: shrug ::

Yep, I've been here for 3 years. Doesn't seem that long though.

I decided I needed a place to post fourth-gen content as well as third.

While it could be possible, just from the guys descriptions I would doubt it.

You dont lose torque to chassis flex, you lose weight transfer to chassis flex.

I've always enjoyed racing guys that pump their engines up like that when they don't really know what they're talking about. Calling the 406 a stroker is a big clue that he is moderately clueless. Its always fun to see the look on their face after the race when my car with "just a 350" would pull away from them.
