Hypertech Fan Switch!!!!

I got the Hypertech fan switch 176 on 166 off and I tried to install in on my car today. We drained the coolant and pulled the old switch and guess what? The bolt size of the new switch and the size of the old one are different. This is really messed up. Anyone else have this problem?????

i think you musta got the wrong part number i have an 87 iroc-z and she fit right in the block on the passengers side with no problem. so return get another one and you didnt listen to like i said mines on at 200 and off at 186 and its always running except on highway use. your never gonna get that car down to 166 no matter what you do. your just gonna run the fan for no reason.

Should I just set up some wiring to a switch inside the car??? Would that be easier cuz then I could turn it on or off whenever I wanted to???

I have the 200/186F unit since I have a 180deg thermostat. It works great. The hex that the socket goes on is a different size than the stock one, but the thread size is the same. Just use a different size socket when you tighten up the new one.

i actually had the same problem on my 88 iroc
and i tried the jet and the hypertech brands fan switches
and both of them were the 185 switches
and both their sizes were bigger then the switch i actually have in the block
someone told me i can try connect it to the water pump instead of the plug but there is not enaugh room overthere because of the metal fuel lines
so right now im stock as well and trying to figure out how to get that 2nd fan work on low temp automaticly
