I don;t think we are talking about the same thing here. One fan is controlled by the ECM and can be programmed in the EPROM to come on at a certain temp. The other is controlled by the sensor on the pass side of the head. No ECM change can control that fan.

your right... my bad.

u know what i did? instead of installing a switch, i just grounded the wire for the passenger side fan on the relay so that it's always on. big deal if it dies on me... can get it for 10$ at the junk yard it's cheaper than the switch, and it NEVER goes past 170, and i live in MIAMI. when it used to get close to 100 (in the summer), it would start to move a little past the 170 mark... but all i'd have to do is make it to 50mph before it started to go back down.... and anyways, if it went to 180, i would still concidered it safe

i remember it going back around 215 once and i took a crap... popped the hood and noticed that the cap covering the air tube came off and was pouring hot exhaust fumes into the engine bay... made my car run like sh*t, thats when i noticed the temp and decided to take a look see under the hood.

I would like to use a 160 thermostat. Do they make on that turns on at 185 and turns off at 175? I think that would be a good temp.

if you live in NJ, get a 180. the 160 is too low for you.

I just ordered the 176 on and 160 off switch. I think its coming today so I will install it and tell you how it is. I live in Northern Va so I get some cold weather but its not usually too bad.

Does any company make a fan switch that turns on at 185 and off at 175? I think this is a good temperature for my area. I think that 200-185 would be to hot but 170-160 would be too cold.
