How many of u leak oil
How many of u leak oil
so my engine leaks oil from the from main seal, back corners of the oil pan, also leaks rear fluid from the rear seal, even after it was rebuilt, also leaks coolant but can never tell where its going, not a head gasket oils fine, tiny bit of brown sludge in the overflow, tiny tiny bit, but its been there since i bought the car. just wondering who else leaks fluid everywhere like me
Re: How many of u leak oil
I have a small oil leak, its up front and I havn't really looked to see where it's comming from. Probably from around the timing chain.
The rear end is covered in grease around the driveshaft i'm not sure if it is an actual leak or just thirteen years of accumulated crap.
I'm also leaking coolent into the oil

Re: How many of u leak oil
My major oil leaks get a minor tear down depending where they are. The minor oil leaks get lots of silicone. I just tore my engine down to fix a spun bearing. There's silicone on the front pan seal, around the dipstick hole (BBC is in the pan not the block). There's silicone on the front and rear intake gasket (don't use the rubber seals in the kits). There's also a bunch of silicone at the 4 corners of the oil pan plus a few other minor spots on the engine that were giving me some problems.
When I took the engine out there were no major oil leaks. Just the typical damp spots. One thing I did to help seal the rocker covers was to buy thick cork gaskets. They seal the best for the price.
If a rear main leaks, the engine comes out to fix it. I can't pull the pan off with the engine in the car. Good thing is that I can have the engine out and sitting on a stand in about 90 minutes.

Re: How many of u leak oil
every gm I've owned and currently own has leaked something. My Camaro doesn't leak oil since I replaced the smashed oil pan, but pisses power steering fluid when its parked (despite many attemps to fix it) my Firebird leaks oil pretty good from the rear seal same with my Trans Am. My brothers cutlass leaks oil from somewhere, my sisters grand am leaks oil and brake fluid from the clutch. My driveway and the street in front of my house are a total disaster
