Just like the topic says. How hard is it? How were your results, any leaks? I want to do it my self but like the idea of being able to take it back to the dealer at the first sign of leakage. I know the dealer with have me bend over upon completion of the work, so I would prefer to do it my self. Any one have any guides or links? Thanks for the help.

Thumbs up

I am also in the process of changing the seals.....I only have the hatch seal done and it was EASY!!! A blind monkey with a hearing impairment could do it........I would feel that the majority of the seals are like that. Make sure you put a little adhesive down so the seal will not pop up over time (hatch seal anyways) and cause leakage. I am proud to say after three days of rain (south Louisiana) I am dry as a bone in the hatch area. Not that it was leaking to begin with.....just thought the 15 yr old seal needed an update.

Its not hard, just time consuming. I did a fast job on the old seals to keep the rain out this past winter, worked great, but I will be doing a better job come summer. With new weatherstripping to replace the old stuff. The main part where it gets in is on the very top, under that center piece. There are holes there that were oringinally surrounded by a foam/rubbery stuff.Time and the elements wore that down tonothing and the water seeps into the those holes and into the interior. Now that I know where it is its coming from, I can tackle it 100% and do it right

Its not that hard to do. But as everyone else said it just takes time. You have to make sure all the old glue & rubber is off. before applying the new stuff. Then you have to let it cure.

We did my 83 firebirds a few years ago. took better part of 3hrs (Grant it was my brother in law, his wife, my husband & I working on it & drinking)

This summer I am hoping to save up the money to have my 87 Iroc done Not more leaks in the winter time. I am sick & tired of cleaning up the mold each year
